Every August, our country celebrates the women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 in protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women. This event highlights the importance of working together to achieve significant change, which is a core belief of Signifyer. This year’s theme for celebrating women was “Women’s Socio-Economic Rights and Empowerment: Building Back Better for Women’s Improved Resilience”

We decided to join our country and fellow women in commemorating Women’s month by showcasing women that have crossed paths with Signifyer. Throughout the month of August, we posted each woman, showcasing their name and LinkedIn profile, and a statement of what Significance means to them.

We acknowledge and recognise the vast socio-economic challenges women face daily, overcoming these take a lot of determination, grit and compassion. Despite such challenges, Signifyer has had the privilege of working with many women from different backgrounds, across different industries and professions, with different passions and strengths, to achieve success through initiatives and projects. This journey has been inspiring and empowering, and it highlights how much resilience women have.

CELEBRATE! Sometimes we get so focused on where we’re headed that we forget where we are now. We get so focused on how to get to that next level or what we’re trying to accomplish next. And while that’s perfectly lovely and exciting, and even encouraged, make sure you take time to celebrate how far you’ve come too.

Take time to celebrate all of your big and little wins you’ve had lately.

Be proud of yourself and everything you’ve done.

Have you been doing especially well at work?

Have you been showing up even though things have been difficult?

Have you been working hard for a while and simply haven’t paused to appreciate your progress in a while?

Maybe today is the perfect day to appreciate yourself a little more.

Maybe today you take some time to celebrate yourself and your progress, maybe today you celebrate your growth. ” (Nikki Banan – Walk the Earth)”
